Where in the world is Prince Albert National Park?

Most people outside of Saskatchewan have never heard of Prince Albert National Park or PA as it’s known locally. PA is located about a two and a half hour drive due north of Saskatoon. One of our clients was hosting a conference at a resort located in PA.

When we quoted on the project we informed our client that air freight was required to make sure the order was delivered on time; the client agreed. For people who don’t understand the nuances of shipping in rural Saskatchewan please understand that none of the national couriers deliver to Prince Albert on a daily basis. They deliver one or twice a week depending on volume. We were assured our shipment would be delivered on time.

On the day we shipped the order we began the tracking process. That evening, much to our horror, we noticed the shipment was marked as ground. All our paperwork indicated overnight air freight. We contacted the freight company but could not get assurances that the shipment was, in fact, included as air freight. Cotton Candy does not miss deadlines; no way, no how, no excuses. We had to come up with a solution.

Here’s the kicker; the order was for 24 golf shirts. Not a big order but like every order, very important. We immediately ordered 24 more shirts and started the embroidery process. We had the shirts completed lickity-split, ready to reship to the heart of Saskatchewan.  The only challenge was getting them there. The event was the next evening.

We asked if anyone had any desire to visit Saskatchewan in late winter and, not surprisingly, a volunteer stepped up. Armed with a change of clothes and a box of 24 shirts our intrepid volunteer headed to the airport and to Saskatoon. The car rental agents in Saskatoon were completely out of cars. The only vehicle available was a diesel powered cube van. So off he went; one man and a small box in a big old rattling noisy cube van.

To make a long story short, the shirts were delivered. The client was happy. We got to see Saskatchewan and we now we have an office in Regina.
